Pushkar: The Holy City

Associated with Brahma in its creation, Pushkar is one of the oldest cities in India. One of five sacred pilgrimage sites or "dhams" for devout Hindus, as it is believed that after the death of Lord Shiva's wife, his tears formed two holy ponds - one in Pushkar and one in Ketaksha, which means "raining eyes" in Sanskrit.
